Chunky Everyday Cable Bag

After looking at many bags that just didn't fit me, I decided to make one of my own. And as a knitter, I thought what better than a knitted bag that I could use everyday. After looking around on the internet for a pattern, I saw some elements that I liked and decided to work them together and make my own pattern. It's a pretty quick knit, which is also what I like about it.

I originally wrote this out on a chart, which I also included at the end of the written pattern. It was my first time writing and knitting from a chart. I always thought charts looked intimidating, but found out that they're really much easier to work with. Since I'm still new at the whole chart knitting scene, I made up some symbols that aren't commonly used, but are not difficult to follow. I recommend using the chart, but if you decide to go with the written directions, I would suggest using the chart as a visual reference. In the written pattern, I explain the three sections of repeats before casting on. I hope it's not too confusing. This pattern hasn't been test knitted, but I did try to go through and check for mistakes. If you have any questions, please let me know!
