Needle Felt Workshop and Classes at Brooklyn General Store

Come on out to beautiful Red Hook! I'll be teaching a one day needle felting workshop at Brooklyn General Store on Sunday May 8th from 5-7 pm. It's a great project to do with your mom on Mother's Day! And I'll also be teaching a 3 week needle felting class that meets once a week on May 15th, 22nd, and 29th from 5-7 pm.

One Day Workshop:
Learn the basics of needle felting. Needle felting is a process that uses barbed needles to shape and “sculpt” wool into anything you’d like. We’ll start out with some basic shapes to get a feel for the material and process, and then add colors and patterns to our pieces.
3 Week Class
Week 1: Basic shapes. We’ll start out with some basic shapes such as hearts and beads to get a feel for the material and process. Then we’ll move onto adding colors and patterns to our pieces.Week 2: Felt duck. We’ll work on one project this week - making and attaching multiple pieces together to form a sweet needle felted duck. We’ll also learn how to smooth out the seams of attachments so they’re not visible.

Week 3: Felt sheep. This week, we’ll be making a needle felted sheep. We’ll work on making smaller and more detailed appendages such as legs and ears.
